I'm so excited with the collection for this month! As I was trying to come up with the perfect March color scheme (that wasn't TOO green) I was immediately drawn to this kit:

This has been a favorite kit of mine from the moment of it's creation. It just screams HAPPY!! So I decided to turn it into a Project Life Collection!

{BOYS' BEDROOM LDS PRINTABLES}

We moved about 6 months ago. My boys FINALLY have matching beds and comforters. So my mind has been reeling (and their Pinterest board has been filling up) with ideas. I've had a really hard time trying to decide what to do. I originally thought super heroes because my 4 year old is right in the thick of a MAJOR super hero obsession…but he shares a room with his 10 year old brother, who is well out of that phase.

My husband has always had a thing for maps. He thinks they are so cool, and though at one point it would be fun to hang a large map in their room. I kind of dismissed the idea because my mind was focused on super heroes. Today, however, I came across this image on Pinterest:

In my church when boys turn the age of 18, they are asked to serve a mission for 2 years to teach those who want to listen about Jesus Christ. It is a huge part of their life, something they prepare and plan for for years in advance. They are called to serve all around the world, if my 10 year old could choose, he'd go to China, but they don't get to choose. :)

I decided to create some of my own printables to hang on their wall to remind them of this goal, along with an oversized map of the world. I wanted to share them with you, of course! :) The CTR print is 8x8 and the other 2 are 11x14. (click the images to download)

{PROJECT LIFE 2014 - WEEK 6}

Week 6. I seem to be about a week behind on posting…but no worries, I'm not a week behind on my layouts. I'm promising myself I won't let that happen again! It's WAAAAAAY too time consuming to try and play catch up!

A little tip for this week:

Do you use Instagram? (follow me!! Link in sidebar) Well this week I had a post that I wanted to include…caption and all. So I simply took a screenshot of it, and used the entire thing on my layout! I found the instagram logo online and resized it to fit in the corner. I love how it turned out! It's always fun to try something a little different.

{PRINTING YOUR ALBUM}

I just sent my Project Life 2013 album to be printed! To say I'm excited would be a HUUUUGE understatement. I've never been so excited to get a book in the mail, I even paid for faster shipping! :) I go through a place called PRESTO PHOTO (previously Viovio.com). I originally started printing with them because they offered a 10x10 size (which is my absolute favorite), and at the time it was hard to find. I believe there are more places that offer 10x10 now, but I've always been pleased with the quality and price. I'll take some pictures and give you a full review, up close and personal, when my book gets here. In the meantime, click the link in the sidebar and check them out!

{PHOTO SHARE}

It's snowed a lot here this week. Like…a TON! My kids finally got their snow clothes on today and went out and built a snowman. (Insert FROZEN song here…it's been running through my head all day!) So after I got the baby down for a nap of course I grabbed my camera and my boots and headed out to get some pictures.

It's a struggle for me to let go of the "perfect image" mentality, and to remind myself that the "perfect image" is NOT the one of them looking at me with a huge smile. While I definitely love me a natural smile…they're not the images I find myself falling in love with. Take this one for example:

Love them both. (the pictures and the kids!) Eating snow…I mean it doesn't get more fun than that, right? Abbie actually said to me "Mom, take a picture of me eating snow!" And Gavin was just eating it more than he was playing in it. :)

So…get rid of expectations and just capture the moment. I'm talking to myself here… But seriously, the candid moments always end up being my favorites.

{PROJECT LIFE CRUSH COLLECTION}

As you can see, this year I've done things a little differently with my Project Life Collections.

#1: I've added an "extras" portion. This is for traditional scrappers who may be in love with the collections, but have no embellishments to go with them! Also for Project Lifers to want to add a little…well…extra! to their pages.

#2: I've changed the way I create the journaling cards. I've tried to add a little more variety to this portion of the collection by changing up the way they look, as well as the sizes. The journaling cards now include 3 horizontal 4x6 cards (for those weeks when you have a little more to say) and 9 vertical 3x4 cards.

#3: I've designed all of the filler cards at the traditional 3x4 inch size with squared edges. This makes it easier for paper Project Lifers to print and use the cards, but we as digital project lifers can still use them with the GG Project Life templates.

So, in a nutshell, I guess you could say that this year I've tried making things more versatile and easier for EVERYONE to use. :) So, with that, I give to you the new "CRUSH" Collection. LOVE it!!!!

I've also created a second set of my "Doodled Words" (check out the first volume HERE) and I'm loving them as well. I love the personal touch hand written words give to a layout. 

And lastly, this fun set of "currently" cards. Whether it's something you're eating, loving, or wearing…we've got you covered! Document the little things that you are doing "currently" in your life!

{2014 MUTUAL THEME PRINTABLES}

I've decided (per the suggestion of a friend) to post some free LDS printables. Word art/Subway art are some of my very most favorite things to create, so I decided to share them with you. I've also recently been called to teach the Sunbeams class (the 3 year olds) at my church. They are absolutely DARLING, and absolutely EXHAUSTING! I will also be posting my lesson helps that I create on occasion here as well.

First up, Young Men/Young Women. These are the youth in our church, ages 12-18, and every year they have a new theme. This year the theme is "Come Unto Christ", so I've made a few printables (all 5x7) that you as leaders can print for you, for them, or for whatever you choose. :)

{AVENGERS BIRTHDAY PARTY}

Back in November, my little guy turned four. FOUR. Gah. Why do they grow up so quickly. I swear his four years has flown by and taken as much time as it did for my oldest to turn four MONTHS. It's just not fair.

If there ever was a super hero fan, this little dude is it.

Oh how I love that face! And all the mischief you see in his eyes…yep, it's 100% genuine. He's the biggest stinker, most crazy, lovable, funny kid you'll ever meet. So how could I not bend to his every request…I'm in trouble when he gets bigger. Can't say no to the kid…just can't do it.

He requested an Avengers birthday party and we planned it for about 2 months. We started out with "HULK SMASH".

I just rounded up a bunch of boxes and wrapped them in brown paper. Then when I ran out of brown paper, I just took them apart and put them back together inside out. Worked like a charm. The boys took turns putting on the hulk hands and smashing/knocking over the boxes. It was definitely the highlight of the party. I think they could have played this the entire time!

Next we broke out the Thor hammer and had a "THOR HAMMER THROW".

We had 2, one that was a foam one, and one hard one. We used the foam one and the boys took turns seeing how far they could throw if down the hall. I've also seen Thor hammers made out of a stick and a kleenex box…just in case you don't have a plethora like we do! LOL!

Then it was time for "PIN THE CHEST PIECE ON IRON MAN" (I honestly don't know what it's called…anyone?)

It's not a birthday party without the traditional "pin something on a poster" game, right? :)

And it definitely would NOT be a super hero party without having to "get the bad guys"! And my guy is OBSESSED with Loki! 

I just found a picture of Loki online and printed out a few, taped them to some gatorade bottles, and let the boys take turns throwing bean bags at them. It was a blast, and I was very surprised at how accurate they all were!! I let them each keep the gatorade they knocked over.

Then it was time for lunch.

Captain America Shield pizzas, Hulk Punch, and Thor Hammers! 

CAPTAIN AMERICA SHIELD PIZZAS:

Flour Tortillas

Cheese

Pepperoni

Tomato Sauce

Large Circle Cookie Cutter

Small star cookie cutter

Use a large circle cookie cutter and cut circles out of a flour tortilla.

Sprinkle Cheese on top

Use a small star cookie cutter to cut stars out of the middle of the pepperoni

Spoon a thin line of tomato sauce around the edge of the cheese

Bake on 350 until cheese is melted

HULK PUNCH:

Lemon Lime Soda

Green Food Coloring

Lime Sherbet

Drop a couple of drops in the bottom of the cup, fill with lemon lime soda, add a scoop of sherbet.

THOR HAMMERS:

String Cheese or Grapes

Stick Pretzels

Cut each cheese stick into 4 pieces, insert a pretzel into each piece. You could also use grapes for this, but my little man chose cheese.

And then cake and ice cream. We kept the cake simple this year and went the cupcake route! Store bought everything.

I printed out pictures of the super heroes and hot glued them to toothpicks and used those for my toppers. Easy peasy. My kind of cake. :)

If we would have had a little more time I was going to play "CAPTAIN AMERICA SHIELD BLOCK" and have the kids throw sponges at Captain America and he would have to try and block them with his shield. I'm sure they would have had a blast with that one too.

{PROJECT LIFE 2014 - WEEK 1}

Okay friends…let's try this again! :) I know I didn't get all of my pages posted on the blog, but I DID FINISH!!! I feel quite accomplished…if we're being completely honest. I am so in love with my Project Life Album I can hardly even stand it! I'm prepping my pages for printing and will be sure to share some photos of the finished/printed book.

Okay, so out with the old, in with the new! Here's to Project Life 2014! If you're on the edge, trying to decide whether or not to take the plunge all I can say is DO IT!!! You won't be sorry you did! Is it a lot of work…you betcha! But I've never been so excited to print an album…EVER!

Guess what guys, only 6 more weeks of pages left and I'll be all caught up and FINISHED for 2013!! I'll be posting pages of all the catching up I did over the next couple of weeks.
